There are multiple reports this morning on the news about a military helicopter crashing in the area.

Social media is as ever, carrying citizen reports (which while are on the spot and quicker to be reported), but this also means that they are unconfirmed. Media outlets are arriving on the scene this morning and WEAR-TV have set up in the Winn-Dixie parking lot.

It would seem that there are a lot of EMS staged at Tommy's Snow Balls not too far from the bridge, but the fog is very thick this morning, so it very hard for people to see any more detail at this point in time just after 6am.

Navarre Press is reporting that there were 7 marines and 4 soldiers on board when it went down. According to the WEAR-TV report; "The helicopter was reported missing around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and search and rescue crews found debris from the crash around 2 a.m. Wednesday, Eglin spokesman Andy Bourland said. "At this time all are missing."

Local news in Dallas is reporting at 7am that all on board are now all listed as "missing presumed dead" so you can see where this is going...

The story is now on the national news outlets but they have no more detail than we have ourselves, so I won't be repeating any more of those reports. You can see them for yourself.

Absolutely heart-breaking ... another "Black Hawk" down. Prayers for the families, friends, emergency workers ... ALL touched by this tragic event.

There is a Remembrance thread in the God and Blessings topic as well. Please feel free to add to it, if you wish.
