To those collard fans in Navarre, please enjoy some of Mr. Ray's wonderful greens for Thanksgiving Dinner for me. We have been able to enjoy Thanksgiving in Navarre for the past 10 years. We're not going to make it this year since my father-in-law is unable to travel due to his chemo treatments. (Thanks for the prayers, and they've worked, his cancer has not grown.)

Hopefully, we can continue the Navarre Thanksgiving tradition next year, and Mr. Ray's Collards have played a big part. He pulls them straight out of the ground, so you can't get any fresher.

Also, take a minute or two to chat with him, he is quite an interesting fellow. Another Navarre treasure!

Is Mr. Ray the equivalent of the Tomato Man just west of the RV Park on the Sound?

I think "Mr. Ray" IS the "Tomato Man" (or so sayith the wife, who visits him more than I do) - puts out a sign that says "Tomatos" or "Greens".
(though we prefer turnip greens to collard greens)

I have given Mr. Ray plenty of my money over the years. Some good stuff comes out of his dirt.

Wow - Thank y'all so much for posting this. I have seen his sign before but passed it up as I didn't see anything near the street. This afternoon though I pulled in and got a mess of mustard greens, fresh picked from his garden. To find him pull into the RV park just west of the Navarre Beach bridge and drive toward the house in the back. If he has the sign out he will be back there. Today he had collards, mustard and cabbage.

Related - understand that there is a periodic "farmers market" held on Hwy 87 in Holley (north of the East River Bridge). Believe it is on Saturday mornings??? Haven't been - but others have said it is quite good.

does anyone know what else Mr. Ray has this time of year. Is it only tomatoes in summer and greens in fall.

If here between 9-noon Sat AM - there is a small farmers market in Holley on Hwy 87 (just south of the new Restaurant/Brewery). When I have gone - a larger variety then what Mr. Ray has ever had.
