Hi,
I have a couple 8" surf rods, and a couple bass rods, could someone add some basic equipment and tactics/species for mid June Navarre pier family fishing.

Line wt, floats, weight size, hook size, bait, does the pier sell good bait/tackle?

I know this is open ended but if a shrimp on a #1 circle hook 18" above a 2 oz pyramid wt is as good as it gets please let me know. If a certail specie will be popular mid June that needs something extra please help me out.

Thank you.

You are right, a very big question. I would suggest a look through past posts in this topic as a 1st step.

Not knowing the set up of what you labeled surf rods I can't tell if they are suited for pier fishing. Many surf rods are much longer and would not be suitable pier rods but king rods for the piers are an easily handled 7-9' but with reels that can stand up to long runs by larger fish, a line capacity of over 300 yds. of 12-30 lb. test. Most of us use 15-20 lb. test

According to what your "bass gear" is would determine if pier suitable. We use light spinners and bait casters for sight fishing pompano, dragging for flounder, and catching bait. We use medium outfits for spanish, though some use light weight for them as well.

My suggestion is that you walk the pier the first day, scope what the regulars are using and fishing for, decide what you want to target, visit the shop (remember they are just opening), then pick from your equipment or visit one of the other two local tackle stores.
