In Honor of Air Force Colonel Bud Day

An American Hero

Air Force Col. Bud Day made his final journey through the Emerald Coast on US Highway 98 today and passing by Navarre before he was laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery at Pensacola Naval Air Station. It was great to see hundreds of patriotic people and children today lining Navarre Parkway - US Highway 98 to pay respect to a Medal of Honor hero. Makes you proud of our military men and women who have served our country. God bless America.

Nice to see so many people able to get out to pay respects on a regular working day.

And do I see that lady of yours in there too, Kenny?

An amazing hero and patriot to the very end, was our Col. Bud! God bless his precious wife and sweetheart "Dorie" and all their family and many friends.

Thanks, Kenny, for sharing these photos of the procession honoring this Great American hero!

Thank you for sharing these photos Kenny. Great man, great American, a somber, yet prideful moment.

Bud Day is a real American hero. Glad to see the people of Navarre out to show their respects during his passing.....

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but there isn't there a "Bud Day Park" behind the Arby's in Florosa by Hurlburt Field?

There's one on Woodland Park Circle.

There is in fact a "Bud Day Park" behind the Arby's in Florosa by Hurlburt Field right off of US Highway 98. The park is nicely done. I like Arby's roast beef sandwich and eat their several times a month, and I'm always reminded of what a great American hero Co. Bud Day was.
