I had a long discussion with someone who is a Democrat Party activist/worker today. I know him well and he was saying that there are plenty of better candidates out there for Dems to vote for in 2020 than Bernie and Beto. I pointed out this from the BBC for him to think about...

"On Tuesday Bernie Sanders announced he would seek the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020. On Wednesday he demonstrated why he will be a formidable candidate. In 24 hours the Vermont senator amassed $6m (£4.6m) in small-dollar campaign contributions from more than 225,000 supporters."

This is a good summary of what I said to him after we read the above (and he was silenced by it):

There may be other potential candidates who perhaps tick more boxes in the minds of the traditional Democrat Party establishment. Bernie however, is not a Democrat party member (is an independent) and for me, was THE candidate that many in the center and just about everyone on the left actually wanted to see as the candidate in 2016. The establishment of the Democrat party squashed his candidacy and supported Hillary Clinton who lost the race for the Presidency in the Electoral College.

Screw the popular vote that Hillary actually won. You forgot at extreme cost to you that for POTUS its the Electoral College that counts. If you think that the popular vote matter for POTUS, just remember how wonderful Trump is working out for you...

If you don't back the Progressives and Independent candidates in 2020, you will be out of power and the GOP will rule for at least a generation - maybe more.

While this is just my view, and you are welcome to think differently, mark my words... Beto and Sanders are the winning combo for you...

= = = =

He was basically silent after this... Perhaps the left is actually coming to terms with its 2016 loss?

Sounds like a great plan to reduce America to a second world Great Britain.

One more item of discussion. If the Democratic party allows Bernie to run under the Democratic banner under their "new" rules, they are a bunch of cowards. They will let him run. Because if Bernie runs under a third party, he will split the Democratic vote.

If he caves and declares that he is a Democratic, he will lose most of his young votes which is the majority of his followers.

Ah yes. The "old school" of the DNC who want to lick Hillary all over, wanting to control everything again. They are pathetic and should all go. I said that two years ago and still think they are too self-centered. Looks to me like the dems could be headed towards the losers road again. That said, I don't agree that this would make too much difference to the end result unless they impose rules that conflict with the progressive wing. They need to avoid adopting some of the candidates and go with Beto/Bernie ticket. Just like 2016, if they don't they'll lose.

As long as Republicans keep their fear factors, their faithful followers will keep President Trump in office.

Yes, President Trump is doing remarkable things and working out wonderfully. An economy that is better than any one in recent memory. Jobs, unemployment rate, etc. A businessman beholding to no one, not a career hot air politician.

As long as the libs keep opening their mouths the right will remain in the White House. They get crazier and more to the radical left by the hour.

The fact that in 2019, America is even discussing Socialism is just mind boggling. A bunch of (fortunately not nearly the majority) mindless robots who want "free" yet do not realize that nothing is free. I guess they think we can just print more money and make it so.

Here is what goes on in a Socialist's mind....."if I can't do it, if I can't make it happen, then I don't want anyone to be able to." Everyone is equal, except for those at the top, of course. Yet they still want it!! That is a definition of insane, isn't it?

President Trump's base, the ones who got him elected is still there and in fact stronger and growing by the day.

Wonder why the left wants to do away with the Electoral College? In the famous words of ol' Jack......"You Can't Handle The Truth."

"Wonder why there is hardly a word of truth in your analysis?"

I guess empirical evidence is not your strong suit.

I could have cited twenty plus more sources but you won't listen to logic.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. top 10 ways to piss off 50% of the American people and most of the rest of the world.

Your article is considered in left circles as a known right wing (semi Nazi) supporting source.

There are three ultra right wing forum members here, you all disgust me. Call yourself Christians too? Your attitudes are neither Christian nor exhibiting any degree of humanity.

We are done. with this thread.
