So apparently California is content with remaining mired in filth, chaos, homelessness, fires, taxes, corruption and lying from their "leaders." Wow! They had the chance to actually turn the state around and they chose to stick with this liar they have as Governor. Larry Elder could have and would have turned the page for that state. Glad I do not live there and hopefully I do not have to go back there to work. Wish there were a way to cut off California, Oregon and Washington and have them just float out to sea, never to be seen again.

As a former resident (during my childhood) I'm very sad for California! Many there don't realize just what heartache they have brought upon themselves by this choice. Praying for the citizens of California to "wake up" and smell the guacamole!

Yea, we lived in the Sacramento area 1994-1997. Really liked it - natural and man-made wonders, weather, etc. We did a lot of sightseeing and travel.
There was even some sort of housing crash - didn't affect us as we were renting, but of concern with some of the other military who had to move and lost money (happened to me in Ocean Springs MS - pre-casinos. Lost about 10%, if had sold after casinos would have mads 30-40% - story of my life).
Not being CA residents (military on orders) I didn't have to pay CA income taxes. Do remember had to get CA licenses and registration for cars, and the dang car inspections, and that all was relatively expensive.
Was not as crazy liberal as now - but sure many hints of the CA "fruits and nuts".
Cheers, Pete

We lived in CA (Ventura county) in the late 80's. House prices were booming and we were advised by other people on the project to buy because we'd make money (we were scheduled to be there less than 2 years). We declined - we had seen what happened in the Northeast previously. So we just rented. Before we left, prices were already going down and people were losing money.

A beautiful state, lovely weather, hardly any insects to speak of. We moved there from TX, so the difference in humidity and bugs and flat topography was welcome. People were a little different, at least at the affiliate office. It was not that they were more liberal, it was other things. I may get into it at another time. I would not chose to live there only because I don't want to have to worry about where my next drink of water was coming from, and the earthquakes. I'll take a hurricane any day over an earthquake (altho I admit I don't miss hurricanes one bit).

Apparently the vast majority of Californians see their life there much differently than others. Their choice.

I feel pity for the stupid fools of California. They are so accustomed and used to failure that they cannot overcome it, think past it to something entirely different and far better. Perhaps their innate drive to vote for being ruled and freebies via the lying left, overrules their common sense, rationale or just plain ability to think for themselves. Pathetic actually!

The exact same dynamic happens here in Houston in Sheila Jackson Lee's district. Remember, she is the black lady with a wrapped up coiled snake on her head that fell over and worshiped Barry every time he came into the Chamber. Salivating and crying and kissing his feet. I digress......the people of her district almost entirely black if not completely black, vote her in year after year based on only one thing, her skin color. She has done a deplorable, horrific job of her district. It is a ****hole of all ****holes. Poor, dilapidated, drug infested, alcohol infested, crime infested and gang infested beyond belief and they tolerate it and live in it and keep it going year after year with the only thing changing is her bank account getting bigger. Fools!

Does SJL live in her district? There are several in CA - though a couple of them by less than a mile - due to redistricting, but at least one by up to 22 miles (at least according to a 2015 article).
