Even the Skyline Cam view had a pink glow to the sky this morning.

To see "historical" proof that NB was once visited by a REAL, live flamingo ... see the video on this thread:

Just checked the zoom cam. Wow, 9 AM and beach is packed already.
Never seen so many folks on the beach to the west of Bel Mer - and down by the pier - looks like 3-4 rows deep!

Too bad about the June Grass though - it's July dangit! Be gone!
Cheers, Pete

Wouldn't that be great ... I agree, "June Grass, BE GONE!"

A Blessed and Happy Independence Day, everyone! May your hearts be full of gratitude for those whose vision for this "divine experiment" implemented that vision with courage, personal sacrifice and the love of God and Country that surpasses that which most of us will ever fully understand. ~ A.G.

Ah-ha, Fiona has taken on some passengers! I guess if there are passenger pigeons there can also be a "passenger flamingo"!

Love the photo's! Pink flamingo looks like fun... good napping place until you're stuck on the beach or caught by a current and out to sea.. ;)

Yeah. That is the problem with these oversize toys.

Umm... Let me re-phrase that... Well perhaps I'll just leave it at that.

Looks like she has been taken away by the beach patrol (or flown home)...

Based on the images I captured, I think she flew the coop ... er, I mean beach, ... sometime Saturday. By that time she was pretty much flat as a fritter!

Fiona, as she appeared Friday approx 4:15 p.m.

Here she is early Saturday morning:

Then, about 5:37 a.m. Sunday morning, an image showing what I think may be the "turtle patrol" and no Fiona in sight:

Aren't they AWESOME? And that is really what I was trying to capture ... the image is really breath-taking on "fullscreen"! I may use it as my new desktop "wallpaper"! ;)
