Thanks Kenny for posting the information regarding the zoo. It is a wonderful little zoo. All ages can really enjoy this zoo. You can get up close with the animals. If a few help a lot and a lot help a little we can overcome this hurdle. I think it is well worth it. My sister and I took our grandkids and we were at the Baboon cage. The old Baboon turned around with his backside to us and my granddaughter said, "Look Aunt Linda, He has on all of your colors!" What a hoot! Everyone had a wonderful time and we try and go often.

It is a small zoo, but is worth saving & helping.

I've visited the San Diego Zoo, The Metro Zoo Atlanta, Miami, and Audubon Zoo....but the Zoo at Gulf Breeze has them all beat...I GOT TO HAND FEED A GIRAFFE THERE.

Pretty cool and neat and slimey...but way cool.

We promise to go next week when we are down there, isn't that the place where they feed the aligators, I want to see that. We keep saying were gonna stop in there but the vacation time always gets filled so quick, but we will definately go this trip!

Red

let me know if this is the place where they feed the gators
Someday we will call Navarre Beach our Home!

sad to see the zoo has lost two animals in the past week...the baby hippo and the giraffe. the hippo is said to have died from a bite by it's father...the article on pnj was not clear on the giraffe, a neck injury??

hope the problems there are cleared up soon. sad to see such a nice place go under or have bad publicity over the animals dying.

good to see support for the zoo on this forum. the zoo is a nice family outing. .

The zoo might consider selling naming rights to certain exhibits and the zoo in general. Similar to corporate sponsers at pro ball parks. For $100.000 maybe it could be named Walmart Park Zoo at Navarre or for a lessor sum perhaps Juana's hippo exhibit or Cocodries petting zoo.

perhaps the pbphs/nblife forums could unite to raise $$ or have a fundraiser for the zoo. something where school kids could participate. i would love to see that. kenny let me know if you are interested 8) we could use the spaceship or i also have a spot at navarre beach with lots of room.

Pick up a zoo calender today. $10 donation to the zoo. A great way to have a piece of the zoo right there on your wall or desk...and help out while at it.

In Navarre you can pick up a calender at:

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce
Navarre Properties
Romper Groom
Verizon Wireless Store (and see DAVEnavarre too!)
