Navarre Beach “Leave No Trace” Ordinance
The “new” Navarre Beach “Leave No Trace” Ordinance is intended to keep tents and other temporary structures from being abandoned on Navarre Beach overnight. If these temporary structures are abandoned overnight it shall be deemed abandoned and shall become the property of Santa Rosa County which may dispose of the item in any manner it sees fit.
Under the new law, items generally used for swimming, sunbathing or beach recreation will not be allowed to remain on the beach between one hour after dusk and one hour after sunrise. Those items include but are not be limited to beach chairs, umbrellas, tents, tent frames, hammocks, volleyball nets, picnic tables and tiki huts.
Leaving such items could garner a $50 citation for the first offense, $100 for the second, $250 for the third and $400 citations for the fourth and subsequent violations.
