Beachfront Bargain Hunt. They are looking for something under $600k. Me too. Way under!

Is this a rerun of the segment from 2-3 years ago? The couple with like 5-kids? If so, they wound up buying a friend of mine's house on East Bay - just east of Robledal Estates.
Said the show was somewhat "fake/scripted" as the segment aired with the couple looking at and commenting on the house, compaired to the others, was well after they had already bought it and made some changes.

If not mistaken, I believe Larry and Jackie Sims house was on that episode or will be on one in latter Feb. Their house is the coral colored one at the corner of Ohio Blvd and Gulf Blvd. She had mentioned it on Facebook but I believe it is on next week? Not sure.

The episode featured a young couple. He is in the Air Force. She is a nurse. they were in their swimsuits most of the time.

They finally bought on the Sound for a little less than $600k.

He must have been on Pentagon staff and she must have been treating certain diseases of the reproductive organs to the stars for people in those two jobs to be able to afford $600k.

Either that, or I smell a script of media lies....

Could have been daddy's money or an inheritance, etc. You are correct, with those two jobs that would be overextending to a large degree.

That episode was in the batch I set to DVR Sunday night ... and sure enough, there was the Sims' house. In fact, it was one of the ones viewed by the newly wed couple.

Sorry but... Is it just me or do they both seem as fake as a $13 bill...

He in particular...

Yep, that is the Sims old house. Stayed next door to it for well over a decade. Stayed in the Lazy Dolphin. Great memories.

Can't see how they could afford unless inheritance or lottery winnings?
Anyway, $529K for not on the water - even on the sound - a bargain?
(doesn't look like that large of a house, either? - appraiser site says 1,375 sq.ft. living area?)
If so, no wonder I can't afford to live on the beach, (not to mention insurance for hurricanes, and non-insured damage from same - sooner or later)?

I have been in the house many times. Very nice house. I actually believe it was listed for quite a bit more initially. Not sure what the market is like down there right now?

As for being right on the water, it is just a matter of time before another hurricane comes through. No thank you to being on the water. That is unless I win the lotto.
