Re: rental condos

I'm posting a reply under the assumption that you'll be renting when you visit next. We have had very positive experiences renting with the following folks, whose units we found on VRBO.com: Navarre Beach Regency: rented unit 909 via Century 21 Island View Realty Navarre Towers: "Simply the Best" vi...

Re: Spring Break trip report

Yeah, the whole "kid in a candy store" experience? That was me at Joe Patti's. I could've spent much longer in there than we did. For this time of year, only big difference we found was that the shelling paled in comparison to our summers there. Again, not complaining; any time down there beats the ...

Spring Break trip report

Had another fabulous stay for week of 3/22! Swimming, fishing and boating were obviously impacted by the high winds; however, we had a great stay and enjoyed some of our favorites away from the snow of Chicagoland! Peg Black of Island Breeze set us up with a nice unit at Navarre Towers; I've read di...

Re: Navarre Beach Web Cam

Skyline Cam is looking beautiful tonight, particularly when compared to cold, dreary NW Indiana. Just a few more weeks until I can recharge my batteries down there!

Re: Spring Break

We're regular summer visitors who'll be down for our first March visit at the same time.......the beachwear will be in full effect! After this Chicagoland winter we've had, even 50 will feel balmy! We have shipping canals nearby that have never frozen that are covered in 16-20 inches of ice!

Re: Navarre 2/12/2014 Water Temperature

Hope the heated pool at Navarre Towers will be a tad warmer than that when we arrive end of March, though my kids will be largely unaffected. They swim in Lake Michigan whenever the air temp is > 75 regardless of water temp. I just want to fish!

Re: Stinkys Fish Camp

Brian's sentiments echoed here regarding the quality/value. Would love to see a local catch place move in, hope it's not vacant for long.

Being a visitor from Chicagoland, anything other than italian/pizza would suffice :)

Re: Y'all stay warm....

Well that is a spirit-lifter right there! Looking forward to getting back on the Pier to experiment with some new gear. My best friend's family enjoyed my pictures from the last few years so much that they're coming down as well. I'll be at the Towers for spring break, they're staying at a house ("I...

Re: Y'all stay warm....

Praise the Lord I have a countdown of 46 days to depart for down there.......looks like we have a potential of 22" of snow over the next 5 days to go with the 52.5" we've already received this season. I don't even care if it barely breaks 50-60 deg F when I get there, just need a break from the snow.

Re: Y'all stay warm....

I love playing in the snow and, when I have to be in it, the elements don't usually bother me; however, I just booked a stay for the Towers in March. I'm not waiting until August because this winter on the southern coast of Lake Michigan has been a doozy. Two out of the last 3 weeks we've had wind c...

Re: Stay Warm.....

We've set new record lows in northwest Indiana the last few days with wind chills in the -40's....making me more determined to come back down there in March in addition to our summer trip. I love the snow but this time the cold really kicked my rear. On the plus side, the extreme cold/snowfall has e...

Re: Gulf Blue Vacations (formerly JMEVacations.com)

Thanks y'all, I got my reservation. Only downside now is that, because I usually come down in June, I will have to suffer through extra withdrawal time between now and then. Perhaps I can break it up with a spring break visit lol.

Re: Gulf Blue Vacations (formerly JMEVacations.com)

I always start with VRBO; from there I've dealt with agencies, realtors and directly with owners. For 10 years I have never had a negative experience. Hoping my luck continues.

Gulf Blue Vacations (formerly JMEVacations.com)

Anyone care to offer up a good or bad experience? I've always rented through Betty Evans or IVR; found this Pearl unit on VRBO that I want for two weeks in August. Emailed with the owner, she stated that she sends the renters' names/dates to Gulf Blue and they handle the rest.
