Re: Pensacolakid's micro Navarre visit

That was so crazy how we ran into each other and what a pleasure it was to meet and visit with you! Getting ready to put in my report as I watch the lightning display that's been crossing the mainland!

I'm waving the same flag you are Kid; not just for NB but for my Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. I've been telling my friends that I'm certain that we'll be seeing condos there before my eyes close for good!

Another great stay in the books!

As usual, drove straight through overnight on a Friday. We always take the chance (and have always won, up to this point) that the weather will be good when we arrive and we can be on the beach/pier all day until check in time comes. Arrived morning of 19th about 7am. My wife and daughters went for ...

Re: New year, new countdown(s)

8 days left until we take off and the struggle to not "phone it in" at work worsens! We appear to have made it through the winter, which continued to be quite mild, save for the blizzard we had a couple weeks ago; my locale received about 17 inches of snow in one day. Current forecast for our trip a...

Re: New year, new countdown(s)

Chicagoland winter has been largely absent to this point, I doubt we've had 5 days this season when it's snowed! Rain, however, has been the flavor of the day. If all the rain we had was snow, it'd be pretty bad. Sam and I have a new tradition, I believe; last summer we were on the spanish but only ...

New year, new countdown(s)

After making our vacation picks at work, I found myself with a block of time off in the summer that was clearly going to be a Navarre Beach vacation. Also have time off for spring break, but we were undecided. By "we," I mean my wife, lol.....the only time we've ever vacationed in NB for spring brea...

So long as it's all wrapped up by June (lol); we made our vacation picks at work on Friday and reserved a stay in the middle building for 13th through 25th.

Re: Had another fantastic trip!

Sounds like overall at least, you guys are well set now? Got a long video to watch as well. Good Job!!! I have 8 weeks until my next trip to Navarre Beach... SIGH! I'm in oil & gas industry; after another brutal Chicagoland winter (not quite as bad as the polar vortex 2 years ago), decided to serio...

Had another fantastic trip!

Thanks to one of my buddies' retirement and the flexibility of a few of my coworkers, our family was able to plan a last-minute, 10-day stay at Navarre Beach Regency. Spanish were plentiful on the pier every day but only got one king, no south winds the entire time we were there. Went out on Destin ...

Re: Not that I'm keeping track, but...

I haven't been here in quite a while, mostly to avoid depression from being resigned to the likelihood that we wouldn't be able to come down this year. Elated to say that we will be back August 1st for a couple weeks! Tight lines!

Re: Just Saying Hello

BCJ you came to the right place. Sounds like I have a little more time to put in than some of you (lol) but our family has had it with Chicagoland, these last two winters have knocked some sense into us. I'm gainfully employed but actively seeking alternate employment on the Gulf.

I'm with you Kid! At least those of us on the Lake have been largely spared from the "polar vortex" conditions we faced last year, only had two snow days (so far) this season. Again, I'm with you though; the lack of football here can not be replaced by golf, tennis, NASCAR, etc. We follow ND hockey ...

Re: Turtles and the pier

We go down there a few weeks annually; my son and I spend more time on that pier than we do anywhere else in the area while we are in town. I obviously can't tell you for certain, but based on our experience there the locals, though salty with the language at times, are by and large protective of th...

Re: I saw someone walking in the water

All of my kids are fearless that way; if the air temp is conducive to being on the beach, they couldn't care less about the temp of the water. Looking forward to our next visit on 3/21.
