Beach Music

Rain Forest is my favorite Paul Hardcastle track. Chicago's last jazz station on a major frequency (95.5) had a morning show hosted by Ramsey Lewis; after that, they basically played the same 30 jazz/r&b standards every day, it was terrible. Ended up getting replaced by a Spanish/Latino pop station....

Beach Music

I literally consider myself to be the biggest Zeppelin fan in the world but I can't listen to it all the time. Also, especially over the last 5 years, Chicago's radio stations have become awful, not much variety to choose from. My wife and I are big fans of Diana Krall and Harry Connick Jr. I stumbl...

Navarre "music"

I listened to SiriusXM "Watercolors," channel 66, the entire 12.5 hour drive there. Playlist is smooth/contemporary jazz, practically identical to Seabreeze 106.3 FM in Destin/Miramar Beach. I'm a rock guy unless I'm down there, then it's anything smooth and/or laid back, not too twangy.

"beach blues"

We checked out of Regency to come back to Indiana on 7/1; it was very difficult to leave....I'm thinking about surprising the family with a 5 day mini vaca back down there in August if I can swing it. Definitely coming back next year.

Zoo

We actually had the zoo on our "itinerary" of things to do, my kids and I routinely looked at their website while we were counting down the days. However, because the fishing pier and Gulf beaches and water are an experience we don't get at home (and there are two large zoos in nearby Chicago), the ...

Hooked...

Hooked on Navarre? LOL that would be a severe understatement. When I was researching the area (for several months), I was telling myself "well, it doesn't look like there's much around." That was the best part! I mean you're going to see traffic on 98 no matter where you are down there. But once we ...

Just Got Back :(

We stayed at Navarre Beach Regency from 6/20 to 7/1 and it was the greatest family vacation ever! My son and I had some awesome fishing experiences at the pier, we did waverunners at Juana's- they had awesome food, bakery- and their "bushwhacker" drink is phenomenal! Tastes like what we Yankees call...

Don't think I'd make it 'til August!

I just watched the video and it made me want to be there right now. I need to dig out my video I took last year and watch it again. August seems like a long time to wait to be there. I'm coming down next month and the anticipation gets worse here daily! Kids have FLA fever too since the end of scho...

Lucky Snapper

From a tourist's perspective I was least impressed last year with LS and Fudpucker's...and I hit about every locally and/or TripAdvisor-recommended joint down there. Certainly no shortage of Destin-area drama these days, between the TDC, Norriego (sp) Point, and Peter Bos.

RV Park

Wish you all the best in your opposition to the RV Park; and my Lord that water slide is hideous.....hope that's not the first thing I see when I come down next month.

great info

We're coming for last two weeks of June & hoping to see the practice on Wed the 27th. Going to be a long, awesome day because I've already got my Blue Wahoos tickets for that night! Wish the time would go by a lil' faster between now & then! Another member on here recommended the Fish House for dinn...

gas prices vs vacation

I'm in tune with one of the early posts, the sentiment that if people want to be there badly enough they will be. We took our first Gulf vacation last year (Okaloosa/Destin) and for my money it's the only general area I need for a vacation spot for the rest of my days. We're coming back in June but ...
