Re: H.R.2370 - Escambia County Land Conveyance Act
I see that the BOCC will discuss the HR 2370 or S 1073. http://www.santarosa.fl.gov/agendas/agendaView.cfm?ID=2613 Was just checking to see if there had been any changes or amended bill introduced, but couldn't find anything new. I did look at the 2015 bill that died in congress. https://www.govtrac...

Could never get a good look at the video, but I think they were cow nose rays, they do have barbs. Like other rays they only have barbs for self defense. The ones that look like little Mantas are called Lesser Devil Ray and have no barb. Love to watch them this time of year.

Also very interesting to actually learn who and why the exemption for Santa Rosa Co. public land protection was put in the bill.

Re: H.R.2370 - Escambia County Land Conveyance Act
Thanks Pete, for all the posts you have done on this subject. I posted to a number of venues and received very few responses. Regardless of your feelings about the pass, do the people that "love" Navarre Beach really want to leave it up to our county commissioners and BIG money to decide the future ...

Re: H.R.2370 - Escambia County Land Conveyance Act
They are talking about all non-federal land (GINS, FT Pickens, Eglin AFB etc.are federal land) that is now leased or county controlled land i.e. parks, parking etc.
Here is a link to the full bill, you can decide for yourself.

H.R.2370 - Escambia County Land Conveyance Act
I know I haven't posted to this forum in a while but I know there are knowledgeable Santa Rosa residents that still check this forum. I have just read the bill to Give title to Escambia CO property on the island. The House and Senate bills S.1073 are the same. I will just print it here and see what ...

Good to see some "facts" vs. "common knowledge". Very interesting!

Walleye
For all you ex-yankees (if there is such a thing), Culvers now has Canadian Walleye dinners and sandwiches. Had the dinner the other night and I thought it was delicious. It was what I remember walleye tasting like. Give it a try. http://www.culvers.com/menu-and-nutrition/featured-items/menu-item-de...

Re: Navarre Beach Weather Station - Marine Science Station
Finally ! We have needed an island based weather station for a long time. Even cooler is their web page. https://santarosa.weatherstem.com/nbmss Soon there will be live sky cameras pointing north and south from The Science Station. This weather station is part of the science technology program and t...

It's the same on east end. Guess that east wind brought the red tide to us.
Was surprised how many lion fish, as well as many other species, were on the beach!

Re: Red Tide?
Looking good in Navarre. Blooms of the Florida red tide organism, Karenia brevis , are present in, along, and offshore of Bay and Gulf counties in northwest Florida, and along and offshore of Manatee and Sarasota counties in Southwest Florida. So far this week, K. brevis has been detected in backgr...

Re: SpringHill Suites coming to Navarre Beach
I know profit rules, but doesn't it seem ironic that most of the locals that have wanted the Holiday Inn back, won't be able to afford to stay even a nite ! Just stayed 3 nites in Daytona Beach. Great old school motel,$50/nite, right on the beach !
