Re: The water doesn't look good

Thank you so much for the replies! I wish we knew why the water clarity has changed and if anything could be done about it. I also love NB for many reasons, but I miss the beautiful water. Not sure how much it affects the gulf, but for sound and other inland waterways - need to be aware that there ...

Re: Will the berm be breached

Read that the pier is open starting 5 AM (to 11 PM - regular hours) today. The Octagon end is closed. Windjammers is supposed to be open regular hours. Moved the "residents only" checkpoint to Summerwinds to allow general public access to the pier, etc. Don't know if the Marine Park is open? Here ar...

Re: Water is Rising

FYI - our AT&T internet did not get back up until yesterday late afternoon. (as on other thread, didn't get power back until yesterday 4 AM) I've got a couple of pics of Navarre Park taken Wed. afternoon. Will get them posted here later. We drove around Wednesday after the wind died down and rain st...

Re: Will the berm be breached

Read elsewhere that Navarre beach lost power at some point but that the berm held up well. Here at the golf course we lost power about 7 AM on the 16th, restored about 4 AM on the 17th - 21 hours much better than the 6 days for Ivan and 3-1/2 days for Dennis. Some friends who live in behind the Hamp...

Re: Worlds Longest Boat Parade?

If this link works - it is a round up of Trump boat parades all over the nation last weekend. The one here is Navarre didn't make this list. BTW - was informed the boat parade here in Navarre was promoted by some as a "Trump" one. (though the original info from organizers that I read didn't say such...

Thanks, never really understood the term before (same with "Woke") but this makes it understandable.

Worlds Longest Boat Parade?

This was Saturday in the Navarre Sound. While not advertised as political in any way, the video shows a lot of US, Trump, and Blue Lives flags. The video runs 55 minutes, starting with the lead boat going under the Navarre Beach Causeway. The videographer states that the video covered about about ha...

Trump Emporium

Here in Navarre we have this roadside stand/trailer. Have actually bought a couple of things there. So far nobody (that I know of) has bothered them. But I now have read of at least three instances of Trump conservatives being shot at. One of the Carolina's (South, I think) a guy drives by Trump sig...

Very sad that anyone had to die in this storm but it appears at least as of a few moments ago, it has been very minimal, 4 deaths.
Last I heard - still many missing. Prayers that they are OK.

Re: Calm Before the Storm

Yea, the predicted 20-foot storm surge was actually reported as 9-feet - thank goodness! - Ivan was about 13-feet, and then as it pushed up East Bay the narrowing width made it even higher to the point that it trapped air under the I-beams of I-10 and floated them off - don't know how high that woul...

Re: Legitimate ?'s on police shootings. Answer please

Matches most of my thoughts. BTW - not sure it was mentioned on this site - re: George Floyd (that started it all) - pathologist report now out - he had enough fentanyl in his system to kill him. Someone stated if he had been found, say, in an apartment it would have been ruled an overdose death. I ...

Re: Calm Before the Storm

Yea, unless there is a shift to the west of the forecast track Houston will be on the west/weaker/drier side. Pity and prayers for folks in southern Louisiana - storm surge of up to over 9-feet from coast up to about I-10 from Beaumont to Layfette. Lake Charles could become a lake. Also talking 6-10...

Re: 2020 Hurricane Season

Gonna be a wet one here today thanks to Marco! 2-4-inches rain? Double Red Flags - stay out of surf! (looks to be 6-ft.+?)
