Re: The Blues this weekend

Blues did fly yesterday. A very abbreviated version of the "low" show. Maybe 5-6 passes - total about 20-minutes. Also, to my eye and commented by another observer, they gave themselves a little more space between planes. Quite windy out of the south. 6+ foot surf. Ferry over and back worked well. V...

And happy 42nd birthday.
I wish! At this point I'd welcome 52nd, or even 62nd!
Anyway, will see what happens today with the ferry, rain, wind, and Blue Angels.
They did report that all the civilian aircraft will not fly, went home?

Re: The Blues this weekend

We have avoided going to the Blue's show in past due to crowds, traffic, parking (but did manage one year to go to Crab's for Sunday brunch and it was a year that the show had been cancelled on Saturday - and the Blue's flew on Sunday while we were there - the other civilian flying had gone home). A...

Re: This is kinda fun

Funny story about this Google Maps Streetview. The current view of my house is labeled May 2016. But was previously covered maybe 10-years previously (2006-ish?). In both images (know they are different as slightly different angles and more mature plants) it finds me sitting in nearly the same spot ...

Photos of Artificial Reef

Couple of excellent photos at: https://www.navarrenewspaper.com/navarre-couple-swims-with-the-turtles/ And yes, the waters are currently that clear. Our daughter and family visiting. Been going to Opal Beach - no June grass, no "chocolate milk", no jellies - a couple of pieces of kelp. (and SIL and ...

Re: Independence Day at the Beach

Quite the traffic jam getting off the beach after the fireworks last evening! Which, with the concert, were pretty impressive for "small town Navarre" (as the Robert Wayne song goes). Advised that there were not enough deputies to cover all the events needing traffic control county-wide. So unable t...

What about Johnny Huston's?
We were there in April and thought the food and portions were great... but would like to hear form the locals on this place.
We find the food just "OK". And the restaurant is usually too noisy for us. (If not too hot of cold, we sit on the outside porch)

We are also fans of Cactus Flower and Bella Luna - as well as Samurai - both the Teppanyaki Grill (aka "Hibachi" - but that is technically incorrect) and the regular menu & sushi. My wife, too, didn't care for EBOH - but haven't been in years.

Re: When is Navarre going to figure out the restaurant scene

Agree with your comments on Dewy Destin's, and the others. We do like the Beachhouse Bar and Grill at Springhill Suites, despite the pricing. Not a fan of Broussard's except for a couple of select items. Just an FYI. The restaurant and bar are the Golf Course are open under new management (been clos...

Re: Pensacolakid's family trip

Glad you had good family trip. Our daughter and family arrive on the 28th for a week-long visit. Have to ask more about Crab Island - you rent a boat? Yea, FWB traffic is getting bad. We had a trip over to Panama City Beach on Saturday, 18 May (reunion of USAF folks who had been on Guam in the 1980'...
