Drove down there about 9:30 a.m. and the "road closed" sign was up and only one lane of the gate was open. Wife said she heard on the tv news that it will open tomorrow.

It seems any more that the state government provides incentives for larger employers to move into an area. Florida does not seem to want to encourage any industry that would produce jobs that pay more than $15.00 an hour. These jobs are all going to Mississippi, Alabama and the Carolinas. There comp...

Whatever happened to the idea of putting casinos in the park. That would generate some real money to offset taxes. Seems to me it was talked about a few months back. It would also create jobs and stem the flow of money from Florida to Mississippi.

Today's Navarre Press reports that this restaurant has closed due to lack of business. Sad that it did not get enough support. Not a good sign for other resturants opening here. I wish I had gone more often.

Another great parade, always the highlight of the year on the beach. The only problem I see is that there needs to be baracades used to hold the crowds back. I see a real potential for a serious accident. Saw several kids run out into the road and grab throws out from under moving floats. Several ne...

Has a complete Italian menu ans deli sandwiches, service was good and they seemed to be doing a steady business. Willl be back next week to try some...

Amtrak to Pensacola

Has anyone had expierence with taking the Amtrak out of Chicago into Pensacola? My daughter's family is thinking of using it to come down next spring. She was having trouble getting information off the internet and thought that the Pensacola stop might have been eliminated because of Katrina.

The zoo might consider selling naming rights to certain exhibits and the zoo in general. Similar to corporate sponsers at pro ball parks. For $100.000 maybe it could be named Walmart Park Zoo at Navarre or for a lessor sum perhaps Juana's hippo exhibit or Cocodries petting zoo.

I have always been afraid of a bad accident along the causeway expecially near Juana's and Sailer's Inn. So many park along that stretch and walk back and forth from their cars. No one should come through that area at over 25 mph.
