Mod October visit

Will be visiting Navarre Beach mid October. By far the latest in the year we have ever been. Historically, is the Gulf still warm enough to swim in? Weather overall seems historically has been around 80's or so, which is awesome. Will be first time in over 20 years without kids. looking forward to r...

Re: Tomorrow's lineup may be better than the first week

so glad I was not watching the Iowa game...was on the road. bright side, it was a non-conference loss. Was able to make it back home to watch 2nd half of Ole Miss-Al. from a neutral stand point, was just a fin game to watch. Glad Nebraska won...love beating PAC 10 teams!

Re: Very Bizarre Start To The 2016 College Football Season

Iowa off to good start....Iowa State not so much, loosing to U of Northern Iowa at home....ouch. Hawks play under the lights at Kinnick against Iowa State on Saturday, and they will have their hands full. Was a very enjoyable long weekend watching all the games. Loved that Houston won, Illinois won ...

Re: Springhill suites topping off!

I am sure I'm in the minority, but I'm looking forward to at least checking it out in the near future. The old HI will never be replaceable...we all know that. it was too sprawling, with many different characteristics that made it so fun to stay at...two pools, a couple gift shops, a 'diner', a rest...

Re: Scooter's Fish House

p'kid. first we've ever been to that location. it was nothing fancy, but clean, and great service, and better food. Nothing against Juana's, because they are special in their own way, but it sure would be nice if a nice seafood place could be sustainable on NB. It was sad to see that prime location ...

Re: Scooter's Fish House

Went there Thursday night to get some grub....was very impressed. had the Mahi-Mahi, and wife and children had fish sandwich, and two different types of shrimp. Very reasonable. We got it to go, and wished we would have stayed, as I liked the laid back atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone.

Re: This Morning’s Sunrise Before The Thunder Storms

We are arriving Saturday! We always plan on at least one day having lightening, so we head to either Pensacola NAS, or Eglin AFB. worse case, we go to the dreaded mall down in Destin. Those days also allow us to just enjoy the scenery from the condo at Navarre Towers, and enjoyed each other's compan...

Re: College Football Rankings

The Hawkeyes have had an awesome year. Despite not winnig the Big 10 (14?) championship, they have far exceeded any anticipations at the beginning of the year. Looking forward to the Rose Bowl against Stanford. It sure has been a fun ride!

Re: College Football Rankings

Go Hawks! Great win over Nebraska. Helped that we had 4 picks, but hey, we take what they give us. Michigan State will be extremely tough to beat this weekend in Indy. No one, and i mean no one, from Coach Ferentz, to the players to the most die-hard fan could have thunk that at the beginning of the...

Re: Week of Oct 24th

Iowa played well enough to win, and that is what counts most right now. Up next is Indiana, which should be a "W" also, but we sure can't afford to look pass them. Would have been nice is Notre Dame would have lost, as well as Stanford, so we could have moved a few slots forward.

Re: This week's action

P'kid....have to agree that Tim Tebow is a classy guy. Missed almost all the games this weekend, except the 2nd half of the Iowa-Northwestern game. Iowa put on a show, improving to 7-0. We are careful to say anything, but schedule is not the most difficult the rest of the way. I would never call pla...

Re: Is the Alabama Dynasty Over?

I do hope the hawkeyes keep moving up the ladder. The Big 10 has some suprising results to date, with Illinois, Indiana being the biggest shockers. Iowa should move to 6-0, but we have learned many lessons over the years to not count victories til the game is done and over. Has been a pretty good co...

Re: 2nd Week Action

Great win for the Hawkeyes! Defense seemed a bit soft at times...Sunshine threw a horrific pick. Nice to start off 3-0. I guess we will be witnessed to the owful north Texas uniforms this Saturday. Was shocked at the Ole Miss-Alabama result. What a great atmosphere, though. LSU looked very good agai...

Re: 2nd Week Action

Iowa looked pretty good against ISU. Will be a bit tougher against Pitt under the lights. Would be nice to go 3-0, becuase their conference schedule, despite no Ohio State, is not going to be a cake walk. On Iowa!!

Re: Umbrella & Tent City

P'kid We looked into the house rentals, and the ones beachside were much higher than Navarre Towers. we spent 1,500 for 7 nights (we only stayed 5, but during summer months, it's a one week min). We used to sat at the HI, and loved the pools, room service, location. NT offers beautiful views, beachs...
