Re: The water doesn't look good

The water is just churned up from the tropical crud, but it should get better by the day now that Sally and Beta have vamoosed. C'mon down, the weather next week is low 60's to mid 80's and clear. Perfect fall weather!

Re: Will the berm be breached

NO SIR, Progator was the brand of bass boat I owned. I am a Geaux-Tigas all the way. The weather is a tad formidable this morning, although I have not seen Joe Cantore yet. Alabama fan here, although most of my inlaws are Auburn-ites so we're always ribbing each other. Congrats for LSU's 2019 seaso...

Re: Navarre Child Predators

Not exactly a Chamber of Commerce front page, was it? The world is full of wacko's and sick people, so good on the SRSO for taking a couple of them off the streets.

Great pictures, Pkid, and it looks like you've got a major 'cane headed your way. Get ready and be careful!

Re: I feel so sorry for

And my wife would spend days at the outlets and the Commons at Destin, and I'd probably do the same at Bass Pro while she does her thing. The Gulfarium is also a good place to spend the afternoon on a nasty day.

Re: Traversing the Sound and pontoon rentals

We rented a pontoon last summer to putz around the Navarre Sound in, and based on the speed it was capable of, I don't think you could make a trip to Peg's in a half-day. They're great to put kids and grands in and find a deserted spot to pull it on the beach and swim though, and next time we have e...

Re: Things are looking up for us Salties

In any event, I think I'll still wear my mask in public (maybe not on the beach), just to show "love for my neighbor, as for myself". Not trying to be preachy, just pragmatic. If you disagree, okay. If you agree, okay. If you don't care what I think, okay. If you want to lambast me, okay. No one kn...

Re: Navarre Beach to open May 1

Btw, our good Forum buddy, Going Nuts had a wonderful suggestion. Have people come to the beach based on Alphabetical last names. Altering days. Great idea. I'd be down for it. My wife and I thought about this about a week ago before the beaches began opening up. Last names A - L have beach access ...

Re: Wonder what the restaurant scene is like

Around Pensacola about half of the restaurants are open for carry-out only, and the other half have closed temporarily. It'll be interesting to see how many do reopen, and how many reopen to use the SBA money they applied for, then close permanently when that's used up. Imho, we'll have years of fal...

Models on Thursday morning are trending better for us on the northern gulf coast. Prayers for those on the east coast and everyone in the path of Dorian wherever it goes.

Re: Seafood Buffet?

I have tried Pegleg Petes, but not Grand Marlin or Red Fish Blue Fish. Do you have a preference? We will probably only make one trip to Pensacola Beach. Even though the Fish House is owned by my wife's cousin's family, the Grand Marlin on Pensacola Beach is probably our favorite place to eat. Go th...

Re: Seafood Buffet?

Seems like I've seen a plane pulling a banner for somebody's seafood buffet, but no good restaurant is going to have one except around something like Mother's Day. Order off the menu at the Grand Marlin or Peglegs or Redfish Bluefish, all on Pensacola Beach.

Re: Who has rented a condo in the Regency Tower

I hate to say but we've never spent any time at the Regency during peak season, so I can't say anything about the beach setups. Looking at all of that crud from the beach cams though, it does look like they've been allowed to take every inch of the shoreline they can from most of the condos. Owners ...

Re: Who has rented a condo in the Regency Tower

Pkid, The family owns a Regency unit for personal use, not a rental. It's a nice complex, plenty of parking, and because it's short and wide (like a lot of people I know...), there is more room on the beach vs the highrises with a small footprint, and you can walk to the pier from there. Anything sp...

This west wind we've had for the past week has blown the hot Texas air and the chocolate milk from Galveston over here!
